Mylan Inc. (MYL) Tuesday briefed on its response to the current shortage of preservative-free Methotrexate Injection.
In a statement, CEO Heather Bresch said Mylan recognizes the critical importance of preservative-free Methotrexate Injection in the treatment of patients with cancer.
Bresch noted that Mylan has not had any manufacturing disruption related to the product, adding that it is actively addressing shortages resulting from manufacturing issues that other suppliers have experienced.
The company said it also has ramped up its production to meet the increased demand and is aggressively working on both the manufacturing and regulatory fronts to expedite the FDA regulatory approvals necessary to further increase capacity.
