It is being reported that the Los Angeles Police Department's investigation into Michael Jackson's death has been completed and will go to the District Attorney within weeks.

According to TMZ, it looks as though MJ's doctor, Dr. Conrad Murray, will be charged with involuntary manslaughter.

The case will be presented to the D.A. as soon as all of the involved parties can be present, 411mania reports. An unnamed law enforcement source said Friday that Murray would be prosecuted on a theory of gross negligence, alleging that his treatment of Jackson was an extreme departure from the norm.

Meanwhile, accesshollywood.com is refuting the reports, saying that charges will not be filed against Murray.

"This is not true," Jane Robison, press secretary for the DA's office, told Access. "We don't have a case."

"We can't file charges without having the evidence," she continued, confirming that the LAPD has yet to hand the case over.

An LAPD spokesman confirmed the information to NBC News.
