Bay Street Stocks Rise Off Of Two-Month Low

Canadian stocks are moderately higher in early afternoon trading on Tuesday as bullion's surge to a new record high has provided a spark to the gold and materials sectors.
The S&P/TSX Composite Index is up 64.76 points or 0.59% to move at 10,942.51. The market has dropped in six of seven sessions to reach a two-month low. Gold stocks are up 5.7% with the precious metal rising more than $25 on the Comex. Iamgold (IMG.TO) has surged 9.7% ahead of its quarterly earnings report tomorrow morning.
Meanwhile, Talisman Energy (TLM.TO) has slipped 1% after the company reported third quarter net income of C$30 million or C$0.03 per share, compared to C$1.43 billion or C$1.38 per share last year.
